Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Concentrated. Some mash tun notes to start, sooty phenols and a hint of sulphur. Allow it to open and it picks up: deck oil/resin, mixed nuts, dried fruit, dried plum but also key lime pie.
Palate: Very rich, sweet and caramelised. Flows well on the palate with light dry-roasted spices, dried fruits, burnt sugar, raisin.
Finish: Tingling, long, good.
Comment: Voluptuous. A big bruiser at the perfect point of integration.
8.5
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Assertive, intense. A bit spirity. Citrus fruit salad with mint. Nutmeg and cinnamon.
Palate: Velvety, unctuous at start. A spicy outburst tones down the fruit. Black pepper; oak shines through.
Finish: Tangy, spicy. A nutty hint.
Comment: A definite sharpness which hides a sweeter character. Water does not help much, enhancing the pepperiness. For those who like it hot.
7.5
