Tasting notes
Taster   Alwynne Gwilt
Nose: Bananas, tropical fruit, honey, strawberry foams and apple cake all come through. Smells old, wonderful richness, but still has a freshness to it. Very well matured.
Palate: Fairly thick, with a nice bit at the back and sides. Initial notes of citrus fruit (orange zest) followed by some red fruits, pecans and milk chocolate. A nice sherry note. Great warmth, juicy and mouthwatering.
Finish: Fruity cardboard and fresh grass linger. Some watermelon gum.
Comment: Really beautiful. Loads going on with great depth and a classic approach. Very engaging nose and palate.

Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Dense, saturated aromas of apricot and thick, set honey. Pear, honeydew melon and barley follow. Herbal with hints of tawt, but lightly toasty oak. With time the herbal notes come through strongly.
Palate: Oily with a profusion of Bourbon oak character. Tannic but wonderfully chocolaty and spicy. Not as fruity as the nose, the oak is taking the edge off.
Finish: Long with a light mouth-watering citrus note and lingering toasty oak, dry tannins.
Comment: If the oak hadn’t taken the edge off the palate this would have scored higher. Still a very enjoyable dram!
