Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: Truly awesome complexity. Sprig of mint with peat, malt, iodine and oak.
Palate: Ultra-rich and dense at first, then actually thinned out by the vanilla oakiness. Unbelievable.
Finish: Soooo long...with some chocolate adding to the tapestry.
Comment: Every connoisseur should get his hands on this at any cost. A classic among classics.
9.5
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Very restrained. Where has the seashore gone?
Palate: Lightly syrupy. Bafflingly thin flavours at first, then developing the earthy Ardbeg character, with a nice splash of mustard.
Finish: Finally the phenolic, tar-like, rope flavours come through.
Comment: Has this cask slept so long that it cannot completely wake up?
