Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: Wine gums and salt: breezy and quite polished.
Palate: Hard as nails: another that shows Irish pot still characteristics - and how. The barley is hard enough to break your teeth on but brilliantly mouth-watering.
Finish: The oak is subdued by the barley concentrate, which continues to overwhelm the taste buds. Fantastic.
Comment: Is it too late to transport this dead distillery brick by brick to Ireland? The most Irish Scotch of all time! Astounding.

Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Beeswax. Honey. Lemongrass. Peat.
Palate: Starts rich. Lemon. Blackcurrant. Menthol. Becoming dry and astringent.
Finish: Cedary. Woody. Abrupt.
Comment: This was never a great distillery but it made some perfectly pleasant whiskies and its loss is to be regretted. This bottling is past its best but obviously has rarity value.
