Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: A massive custard-vanilla theme and gentle, mildly peated malt. Oaky, mildly complex but always attractive and effective.
Palate: Mouth-watering. Strong waves of sweet malt. Spicy. Waxier and fuller bodied.
Finish: Excellent length with trademark sweet vanilla recognisable through the wrinkles of oaky old age.
Comment: Shows some signs of deterioration but, like many a good oldie, tells an interesting tale.
8.0
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Fruitier. Lemon grass. Honeydew melon.
Palate: Much richer. Syrup, vanilla, ginger, then spicy smokiness.
Finish: Deliciously smoky, lively and warming. Quite aggressive.
Comment: Hardly elegant but a muscular malt of a style that is sadly vanishing from the Highlands. I greatly enjoyed it.
