Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Clean, dry, peat-smoke fragrance. A hint of the sea?
Palate: Vanilla. Syrupy-sweet flavours. Grassy. Sundried grass.
Finish: Lemon grass. Complex spiciness. Gingery, dry. Very long.
Comment: The best Banff I have tasted. Shows its age but the finish reveals real depth and staying power.
7.0
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: Over ripe banana and papaya star in this fruity production. Otherwise hot and slightly over oaked.
Palate: For all the alcoholic oomph, it's rather thin taste-wise, except for an exceptionally sweet maltiness which grows rather charmingly and is the high point.
Finish: Thinner still, despite a hint of cocoa. Still hot and off-balanced by the bullying oak.
Comment: This was probably a half decent dram 12 years ago.
