Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Antique wardrobes with scented draw liners. A good whiff of humidors, cedar wood and a little touch of tomato stalks to it.
Palate: Sumptuous and rich. The oak is here in force. Xmas pudding richness andlingering spices.
Finish: Layered and lovely.
Comment: Was worried there would be too much oak at first but it is well balanced.

Taster Martine Nouet

Nose: Oaky. Deep sherry. Walnut stain. Cedar. Antique furniture. Tobacco. Hint ofsulphur. Very aromatic.
Palate: Velvety. Smooth. Not as astringent as expected. The wood overwhelms butquite elegantly. Dark chocolate.
Finish: Lingering, oaky, sweet dried fruit note.
Comment: An old sherry character. Wood has taken the lead but in a rich and deep expression. Don't miss nosing the empty glass.
