Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: A phenomenal nose of bright strawberries, cherries, and red apples which meet the delicate-yet-omnipresent oak notes perfectly. An old head on young shoulders.
Palate: And here we go again with the palate. A cornucopia of flavours, from the dark black cherry through to the rich vanilla and the oak, which sparks throughout.
Finish: The whole thing continues through to the finish, which is perfectly balanced.
Comment: What a well-balanced whisky, full of flavour and poise.
9.5
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Dusty, mature Oloroso with orange peel. Treacly, smoky and pruney with bonfire embers, green nuts, camphor, dark roasted coffee and a touch of chocolate orange.
Palate: Soft and mellow with dark honey and treacle, burnt wood, smoke and green nuts. Plenty of oxidised fruit character and bitter chocolaty tannins.
Finish: Long and crisp with lingering dark honey tannins, sweet spice and raisinated fruit. Slightly astringent green nut after-taste.
Comment: A lovely, clean and sherry matured Spey.
