Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: Subtle sherry aroma balanced by a fresh salty breeze. Mildly bourboned.
Palate: Marginally fatter than the average Bunna, a quick rush of oak countered by malt and sherry.
Finish: Remains oaky and oily with some cocoa notes popping through.
Comment: Another example of an aged malt that, for all its obvious charm and class, has been just a tad too much oak. A delicious experience, nonetheless.
8.3
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Fragrant. Sea air. Very lightly briney.
Palate: Firm. Hint of iron. Oaky. Oily. Developing almondy, nutty maltiness. Deft balance of flavours.
Finish: Edible seaweed. More salt.
Comment: Because it is less aggressive than some of its neighbours, Bunnahabhain is often regarded as not being a proper Islay malt. This proves it can be.
