Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Tangy, estery. Sour fruit. Hint of nail varnish. Burnt wood. Develops intense fruit: red plum, apricot, sherry notes lusciously underline without overpowering.
Palate: Silky, crisp and firm. A beautiful array of Oloroso notes: plum jam, cherries, figs, coffee beans.
Finish: Long, lingering. Marzipan and oak.
Comment: As appealing and intriguing as a cupboard full of granny's jams for a young pilferer (I was one!). You just can't resist!
8.5
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Light wood oil notes, chocolate/hazelnut, bracken, frangipan, lemon. A hint of rancio. Mature.
Palate: Surprisingly soft. Caramel. Light tannic grip, into Terry's Chocolate Orange, dried cherries, firm oak.
Finish: Marzipan.
Comment: We're looking at big interaction between oak and spirit, but has balance and complexity.
8.5
