Tasting notes
Taster   Gavin D. Smith
Nose: Leather, saddle soap, 'fousty'.
Palate: Quite thick mouthfeel, dominant dry oak.
Finish: Mixed spices and raisins behind the oak, but struggling.
Comment: Hasn't held up for its age anything like as well as the previous thirty-something Bruichladdich. The cask has won this battle.
7.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Old, mature. Bung cloth, raisin, cereal, boot polish, lardy cake. Like an old warehouse. Becomes mustier with time. Damp wood.
Palate: Mixed dried fruits, dry clootie dumping mix. Old and fading fast.
Finish: Light tingle of ginger.
Comment: Gone, just spent too long in the cask.
