Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: One of the most herbal noses around. Exceptional.
Palate: Perhaps the most melt-in-the mouth malt of all time. A hint of something fruity moistens the mouth.
Finish: Lazy and light; smoky barley and mildly kippery oiliness.
Comment: Distilled during one of the best periods in HP's recent history. If only they had bottled at 46!! One of all time greats, for all that.
9.5
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Sherry. Toast. Polished oak.
Palate: Rich. Very creamy. Freshly peeled Satsumas. Very bitter black chocolate. Astonishing length.
Finish: Violets. Lingering, scented, fragrant, smokiness.
Comment: My favourite expression of whisky's greatest all rounder. Sets an incredibly high standard for Highland Park to maintain.
