Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Drier. Robust and oily: earthy, seasoned oak, hazelnut, dry spices. Cherry stone, dried apricot, ripe pineapple, melon, peels, then into coconut and cocoa.
Palate: Mouthcoating. Peaches cut with toasted nuts, ginger powder, cherry stone, burnt grass.
Finish: Dry, a little fresh malt.
Comment: Good weight. Ripe.
8.5
Taster   Gavin D. Smith
Nose: Spices, barley, subtle floral perfume.
Palate: Firm and confident. More spices, ginger, some trademark Macallan honey and malt.
Finish: Honey lingers, angelica.
Comment: A lovely, elegant yet large whisky. Why would you ever use sherry wood?
7.8
