Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: A faultlessly clean and deep sherry aroma with a mint residue and beautiful lemon notes. Compelling.
Palate: Deep, moderately dry throughout with a slow build up of peppery spices and smoke. Malty, grapey succulence with some cocoa bitterness giving extra complexity.
Finish: Amazingly long and brilliantly weighted, the fruitiness sweetens the malt gracefully.
Comment: A really excellent and classy Aberlour showing amazing complexity for its age.

Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Polished leather. Mature, finessed.
Palate: Firmly malty. Hint of smoky peat, plus rooty liquorice and anise. Tightly combined flavours.
Finish: Surprisingly fresh oak. Sappiness and log fires; warming.
Comment: More sophisticated, especially in the finish. Better balanced, but less voluptuous maltiness.
