Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Very rich and heavily sherried. Fig rolls, fruit cake, bitter orange and a light almost tarry note. becomes ever sweeter with luscious coffee notes and a subtle fragrance on top.
Palate: Ripe with tomato leaf, black cherry and walnut and a hint of smoke. Good grip balancing a very silky feel.
Finish: Long and generous.
Comment: It's not my preferred style of whisky, but this has real class and excellent balance.
8.5
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Unmistakably sherried. Wood gives the pitch. Damp warehouse walls, wet pine needles, humus, earthy roots. It's like walking in a thick sun deprived forest.
Palate: Sweet at start. Velvety. Then begins the tastebud dance. Spicy and tickly, with a bitter edge toward the finish. But deep and rich.
Finish: Long, spicy, slightly bitter.
Comment: An old fellow on the oak side but with elegancy.
