Tasting notes
Taster   Gavin D. Smith
Nose: Initially very slightly rubbery, then treacle emerges. Earthy, with underlying floral notes, particularly strong in violets.
Palate: Rich and full-bodied. Voluptuous with gingersnaps, malt, warm oak and Jaffa oranges.
Finish: Relatively long, with dark, spicy malt and a sprinkling of cocoa powder.
Comment: A confident, well-rounded cask strength expression from an often underrated distillery.
Taster   Joe Bates
Nose: Incredibly appealing mix of stem ginger, star anise and dark chocolate.
Palate: Buttery mouthfeel with lots of sweet dried fruits, and warming woody spice.
Finish: Long and sweet.
Comment: A drop or two of water really get the flavours of this rich, sweet, high ABV whisky singing.
