Tasting notes
Taster   Arthur Motley
Nose: Spicy, sappy oak. Pine, cloves and fudge. Some apple and lemon peel. Danish pastry overspiced with nutmeg. Pencil shavings.
Palate: Toffeeish and spicy
Finish: Great texture and body of youth, cut through by bold oak.
Comment: The 'organic' bit feels like first-ism to me, and not as important as the 'virgin oak' part. The first new oak malt that has worked for me.
8.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Oak driven. Edgy and plain with hard malt and freshly planed wood.
Palate: As the nose suggests. A picture of oak shavings piled on top of a fruit salad. Hollow midpalate. There's two elements to this and they ain't talking to each other.
Finish: Hard and lean.
Comment: This suggests a young spirit and lots of oak. Not balanced.
