Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Smoky, earthy. Slightly medicinal. Malt four. Hint of smoked haddock. Clover honey. Quite complex. With water, a mineral note.
Palate: Smooth and sweet at start then a spicy fizzy burst.
Finish: Medium, soothing on gentle spices.
Comment: A well structured peaty character, balanced with an enticing malty sweetness. Surprisingly water tends to harden it.

Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Clean and a little buttery - think clotted cream toffee - then comes wet grass and gentle fruits. With water, choux pastry (profiterole) and custard tarts.
Palate: Prickly when neat with sweet white fruits, milk chocolate and grassiness.
Finish: Clean and lively.
Comment: All very poised and pleasant, but apart from its unusual provenance (anunpeated Caol Ila) not exceptional.
