Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: Enormous battle between the fattest, cleanest juiciest sherry you can imagine and chunky peat.
Palate: Every bit as mouth filling and chewy as the nose suggest.
Finish: Ladles of molten chocolate and sweet peat plus cherries and vanilla.
Comment: A monster of a malt, fully underlining what truly magnificent distillery this once was when the peating levels were traditional and unrestrained.
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Smoky. Charred Oak. Earthy saltiness. Peat.
Palate: Black and white mint humbugs. Pronounced black treacle. Molasses. Pepper.
Finish: Cough sweets. Chlorodyne.
Comment: With its chestnut colour and highly distinctive flavours, this is a wonderfully wintery whisky.
