Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Mature, deep. Laid-back succulent sherry with orange blossom honey, malt, coffee and sweet spice.
Palate: Elegant and luscious with sweet coffee, milk chocolate, malt and soft sherry. It bites a little on the middle but the depth of Armagnac-esque dried fruit and dark honey balances.
Finish: Long and spicy with lingering dark chocolaty wood notes, green nuts, malt and treacle.
Comment: A perfectly laid-back whisky, for those laid-back moments!
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Old cigar boxes, with a slight hint of egg and cress sandwiches on brown bread. It’s a curious mix of sulphur, iron, pumpkin and cinnamon spice.
Palate: Much improved from the eggy nose, this has toasted hazelnuts, some cherry stones, and pulled pork BBQ. Sawdust and leather are also there, to give this some body.
Finish: More of the sulphur notes which erode an otherwise decent palate.
Comment: Drinking a single malt in the Blue Lagoon, Iceland.
