Tasting notes
Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: Soap, violets, toasted hazelnuts and dried raspberries and cranberries. Orange sauce and honey, with cinnamon and nutmeg, cedar wood and Chinese five spice. Wood smoke through fresh laundry.
Palate: Chewy, nutty, spicy and slightly smoke-laced. Fruitcake slathered with marmalade, while a pipe and its dottle sit nearby. Oily gears and salted padron peppers and hops towards the end.
Finish: Raisins and a whisper of charcoal.
Comment: Rich, complex and rewarding.

Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Walking into the shower room after someone has used it – soap, talc powder, wet towels and floral perfume. Then a nutty, woody edge brings humidors, flower blossom honey and a touch of anise.
Palate: The nutty, woody edge leads off, gentle Latika tobacco oils swirl with a honey and toasted sourdough bread. Spices come at the end, almost a griddle chilli note.
Finish: Fruitcake with pipe tobacco as well.
Comment: A big bold whisky, very layered and intriguing. For late night contemplation.
