Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: A full on honey bomb, caramel pennies, honey roasted chicken, open packets of jelly babies. There is a spicy side to it too with a rye bread pep, toasted chilli almonds and cracked black pepper.
Palate: Now the alcohol shows its face, water releases more autumnal notes. A creaminess and hints of Terry’s Chocolate Orange.
Finish: Short and drying. A little salty like bacon rind. Water lengthens and sweetens this out.
Comment: A game of two halves, two totally different personalities with water and neat.
8.2
Taster   Sam Coyne
Nose: Unashamedly forward – full of rich, sweet aromas. Caramel, icing-sugar and toffee. Sherry and wine notes round out those sweet notes nicely.
Palate: Caramel and toffee notes, Christmas cake spices; cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves with cherries too. Pecan and almonds. Citrus peels. Oak grips eventually.
Finish: Middling-length, with more of the nuts. With a drop of water this becomes longer and a little more satisfying.
Comment: Clearly one for those with a sweet-tooth certainly.
