Tasting notes
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: A freshly baked slice of rye bread, with thick-cut orange marmalade. Soft notes of sage and sliced peach. A frangipane hint too.
Palate: Bags of fruit and syrup up front, with peach, grapefruit and more of that calming sage note. Toasted rye bread brings that soft spice, and something that leans to liquorice.
Finish: Medium length with that earthy rye spice and aniseed.
Comment: You’d certainly know it’s a rye, but there’s complexity tackling that spice that makes this quite the little treat.

Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Pretzel and quince jelly, dusty hayloft and capsicum. Beneath it all, dried apricots and fresh green pepper. Allspice and dried ginger powder.
Palate: Light bodied. Delicately bready, with white pepper and butter. A foundation of fruits keeps things vibrant, with fresh nectarine and tangerine. A touch of golden syrup sweetness, candied ginger a touch of that capsicum.
Finish: Medium-short. The spices fade, but the sweet fruits linger.
Comment: Foundations of complexity, but still has a little growing up to do in my view.
