Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Damp tweed jackets and latakia pipe tobacco. A lovely earthiness. There’s a sweetness from melted brown sugar and a slight minerality, like smoked cod loin.
Palate: Orange sherbet sweets, shortbread and marmalade, Melba toasts with butter and cinnamon. After a while the smoke starts to build up.
Finish: A little pink grapefruit acidity and a hint of liquorice, then that smoke unfurls and dries slowly.
Comment: A wonderful example of smoke and sweetness together in near perfection.

Taster   Lyndsey Gray
Nose: Oily and coastal with spritzes of lemon zest, driftwood, wholemeal toast and maple syrup. Toasted marshmallows and hazelnuts start to develop with time.
Palate: A seaside barbeque with hints of charcoal, gasoline and piña coladas. Cherry bakewell tarts and lemon curd start to appear through the smokiness.
Finish: The smoke carries through and through but does not overpower the fruits.
Comment: Smoke and fruits crashing together in perfect harmony.
