Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Black bananas, vanilla fudge and sponge cake with lashings of cream and fresh strawberries.
Palate: Follows that wonderful nose, with banana creaminess and more tang coming from a hit of citrus.
Finish: Big, bold and full of vanilla cream and toffee sweetness.
Comment: Definitely one to pack for a picnic, summer or autumn, just dress appropriately for the weather and load the hip flask.

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Lychee and Robinson’s peach squash, foam banana sweets, fondant icing, vanilla cupcakes, pistachio ice cream, and Virginia tobacco. A whiff of cough drop, first-aid kit and sourdough.
Palate: Lots of green and floral notes. Gooseberry, Bisongrass, white grape and the medicinal touch of lemon throat sweets.
Finish: Sharp citrus fades nicely to green apple peel.
Comment: The fruits lead, while the peat adds structure.
