Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: ull-on peat reek here, burning heather and leaf-laden bonfires. Smoked bacon fat with the sweetness of Parma ham and melon balls.
Palate: That sweetness is here, chilli and bacon jam, the heat prickle for the chilli comes through before then the peat takes it over.
Finish: Hot, peaty and full of spice.
Comment: A good full-on force of Islay at its best.

Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Wood smoke and brine, Kalamata olive and baked salt fish with lemon. Some very gentle green notes, celery and parsley. Under it all, dehydrated pineapple, elderflower cordial and a slight medicinal edge.
Palate: Light and fresh on the palate. Gentle iodine, with pear drop and a little pine. A hint of Fisherman’s Friend and bass notes of poached pear.
Finish: The mid-palate fades quickly, but the wood smoke and medicinal notes linger.
Comment: An easy-going Islay sipper.
