Tasting notes

Taster Dave Broom

Nose: Fresh and slightly mealy with a light green note: think whittled sticks and wet grass.
Palate: Clean and quite light but a sound balance between the wood and the spirit, with the former in the background. Hazelnuts, star anise and buttery biscuits.
Finish: Vanilla and nuts.
Comment: A real step up in quality. One to watch.

Taster Martine Nouet

Nose: Oaky. Fresh sawdust. Vanilla toffee. A light cheesy note at start. Hint of cinnamon as well.
Palate: Smooth, satin-like at start but soon followed by a burning sensation and an oaky grip.
Finish: Warm and astringent, leaving a numbing sensation.
Comment: Although the nose is pretty smooth, the alcohol is not mastered on the palate. Lacks balance.
