Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Intense, mature. Beeswax, Crème brûlée. Cider cellar (old wood, apples, damp walls) Toasted nuts. Parma violet. What an aromatic trip!
Palate: Neat. Stewed fruit (apricot and prunes). Rose syrup. Delicate oak.
Finish: Long, reluctantly fading. Pleasantly bitter. Dark chocolate. Walnut skin. Passion fruit.
Comment: A pure beauty. Absolutely beaming on nose and palate. The best a sherry cask can offer.
9.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Similar to the 16 Years Old, though with greater elegance and maturity: more biscuity notes, saddles, dried fruits, demerara, sultana cake, roasted chestnut.
Palate: Mature: bung cloth, spices galore. Good full mouthfeel with fine tannic grip, toffee, and a sweet, yet nutty balance.
Finish: Toffee - then goes on forever.
Comment: Subtle, nuanced and complex.
