Tasting notes

Taster Phoebe Calver

Nose: Syrupy orange polenta cake, with a vanilla cream frosting and malted milk biscuits.
Palate: Things get a little more crumbly here, with slightly overdone crumble topping, stewed apples, cinnamon, raisins and vanilla custard. There’s a hint of toffee penny, too.
Finish: Those spices from the stewed apples linger, with some brown sugar elevating it.
Comment: A sweet and rather autumnal treat – I’d be pretty up for making a hot toddy with this and getting cosy by a fire.

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Quite delicate on the nose at first, with creamy porridge, fresh apricot and stewed pears. Some sawn oak and malt milk, with halloumi and olive oil. Subtle spice, especially coriander seed and cumin, lurk in the bass notes with toffee.
Palate: Medium bodied. Quite concentrated baked apples, brown sugar, pastry, dried apricot and custard, with some clove spice. Somewhat bittersweet, with tarragon and peppery rocket.
Finish: Medium. Sweet and peppery notes move to tobacco and celery.
Comment: Well-rounded and complex.
