Tasting notes
Taster   Annabel Meikle
Nose: Soft floral notes of dusty rose and elder, then lemon peel and coconut ice. White balsamic vinegar and a crispness like chenin blanc with rumbling smoke.
Palate: A bunch of fresh herbs with the delicate heat of pickled ginger. A sweetness of madeleine biscuits with grated zest then brine and chalky smoke.
Finish: Silky
Comment: A reflective dram that needs time to unravel.
8.9
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Tarred rope, varnish, a Swedish fisherman returning from sea having just fixed his outboard motor. Dying embers of a coastal fire.
Palate: Smoke and seaweed, a hint of bovril, lapsang souchong, liqourice and parma violets.
Finish: Surprise, surprise...smoke. Some vanilla and hints of patchouli.
Comment: A big ploughing workhouse. Not a showjumper prancing about but a direct beast that does a job.
