Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Pencil shavings, damp wood, tomato stalks, fresh humidor with a hint of cedar, almost dunnage warehouses.
Palate: Bags of oak and wood notes, some soft vanillas lurk as well. A spiced kick before mellowing a little.
Finish: A little bittersweet, like nutmeg coffee.
Comment: The wood may have this but there is a wonderful sweetness at the heart of this whisky. Perfect for thecold weather.

Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Woody. Sour. Cider cellar. Touch of cedar wood. Musty. Damp walls.
Palate: Starts with a touch of sweetness. quickly swept by that harsh bitter oakiness and a tangy dryness. Somespices, then soothes on sweeter notes.
Finish: Not as dry and woody as expected. Hint of cappuccino and roasted nuts.
Comment: You have got to like woody whiskies to drink this one. Has gone over the top for me. Certainly an old whisky but too long a maturation made it grumpy. Water kills it.
