Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Malty and buttery. Butterscotch. A lactic note which reminds of a dairy parlour. Then a citrussy note. Lemon peel. And a grassy aroma. Dry hay.
Palate: Smooth and round. Oily. Good malty character enhanced with a dash of water. Honeyed cereals. Stewed apples.
Finish: Medium long. A light astringency mingled with a fresh minty feel.
Comment: There is an enticing rusticity in this whisky. Rustic with style!
8.2
Taster   Annabel Meikle
Nose: The nose delivers a salty lick of fresh pine and pickled lemons. Clean damp laundry washed in Lux flakes. With water saddle soap, tempura prawns and crushed mint leaf.
Palate: Campfire smoke and toasted marshmallows on a green twig. A lovely mentholic cool and rendered bacon fat.
Finish: A blast of smoke then silky sweet.
Comment: A sophisticated dram ideal for after dinner.
