Tasting notes
Taster   Lyndsey Gray
Nose: Apple laces, liquorice and mahogany cupboards, with notes of Marmite on toast, toasted pumpkin seeds and a slight hint of charcoal developing.
Palate: Rich and spicy with autumnal notes of dried cranberries, toffee apples, treacle and grated nutmeg. Liquorice notes follow through on the palate, with crushed vanilla pods and linseed oil.
Finish: An oily texture coating the palate with a hot-spice finish.
Comment: Reminds me of apple bobbing on a warm autumnal Halloween night.
9.2
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Gorse flowers and bracken. Blackberry compote, honeycomb, cherries in dark chocolate. Water brings out more floral notes, cherry blossom and a dried herb edge. Some resinous aromas too.
Palate: Brown butter, Oxford marmalade and Tweed bolts. Then cherries and banana bread. With water becomes gentle with all the floral notes cutting through.
Finish: Long and lingering, gets hot, with spicy nutmeg and chilli.
Comment: A real Jekyll and Hyde. Shows the power of great balance and ABV.
