Tasting notes
Taster   Arthur Motley
Nose: Fruit cake mix with cherries, ginger, prune syrup, tangerine and treacle toffee. Coffee and demerara sugar.
Palate: Gingerbread, smoked venison, prunes in Armagnac. Nice, broad mouth-coating texture on the tongue.
Finish: Traces of burnt, pork crackling.
Comment: Cracking whisky led by an intense relationship with its sherry cask.
8.5
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Deeply sherried. Like being plunged into a deep, dank, autumn wood. Liquorice and cold Darjeeling tea coupled with wet wool/leather. More sulphur with water. Funky and mature.
Palate: Rich and not as tannic as the nose suggests. Nutty, rich and mellow. Good depth.
Finish: Treacle toffee.
Comment: A big powerful bruiser.
