Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: A beautiful nose of chunky barley and fragrant honey with a good dollop of white peach and apricot. Effusive, creamy vanillins along with a subtle sawdusty note. With time some fresh, grassy notes and lightly grainy spices.
Palate: Fresh but deeply honeyed with barley and sub-tropical fruit. Malty on the middle with the oak showing a slight coffeed character.
Finish: Mouth-watering and mineral finish; increasingly tannic as the oak takes hold.
Comment: It’s an enjoyable aperitif style whisky. My only gripe is that the oak bites a little hard on the finish.

Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: Light wafts of new balsa wood, coconut water and wet sugar paper. A little closed, if anything. Given a bit more time, some blackberry leaf and candle wax begin to develop.
Palate: Spritely, with pinesap, cocoa, and a spirity undertone. A little thin.
Finish: Some fresh ginger notes and a little lemon balm.
Comment: Youthful. For me, this just hasn’t developed enough.
