Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Light and smoky with a waxy undertow. Tennis balls. Seems young, but in time (and it benefits from breathing space) there’s clotted cream, wet chamois, ripe fruits, then grassiness.
Palate: Clean with damp moss, fresh herbs. Silky before a peppery grip kicks in. When the smoke appears it changes totally becoming oilier and more overtly briny.
Finish: Long and balanced. Bandages, ash.
Comment: An intriguing and pretty classy dram.

Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Grassy and biscuity at first. Then a big whiff of smoke goes through. And it changes again. Raw scallops, wet hay. A hint of oatcake. Warm tarmac after a summer shower.
Palate: Sweet and malty at start then sherbety and drier. Not as smoky as the nose. Alcohol is well mastered.
Finish: Dry, tarry, with a touch of spices.
Comment: A delicious Ileach. Perfect for a summer dram. With a multifaceted nose.
