Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Phenolic: tarry rope, seashell, salami. With herbs, seaweed, cereal notes. Coal scuttle.
Palate: Explosive smokiness balanced by a silky soft mid-palate. Seashore aromas, fish oil, light ginger, lavender. Sooty. Great balance.
Finish: Smoke and ginger.
Comment: Holding all those expressive peaty malts in check is a difficult task. This does so with poise.

Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Tangy. A definite marine breath. Creosote. Drying sea-weeds. Coconut. Bogmyrtle. A hint of tar. Sour apple. Vanilla breaks through after a while.
Palate: Smoky. Sweet fruit notes. Malt extract.
Finish: Warm. Hint of soot. Light oak.
Comment: An uncompromising Islay blend. Washes along sea fragrances. But reveals a sweet nature on the palate. Grain and malt are well married. A good cure for Islay-sickness.
