Tasting notes
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Milk chocolate-covered raisins, a hay barn, tropical notes of dried papaya and pineapple, sandalwood and pistachio.
Palate: Luscious mouthfeel, like a fruit and nut chocolate bar. A little peppermint warmth comes through, Fisherman’s Friend, chopped hazelnut and rye loaf.
Finish: Medium to long nutty finish with a hit of rye spice.
Comment: I’m into it, spicy but with enough complexity that you’re able to enjoy the heat.
8.3
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Caramel and tamarind, vanilla yoghurt and gorse flower. Apples and pears poached in brown sugar and brandy. Honey on white French toast, with a touch of cinnamon.
Palate: Light bodied and fresh fruit forward. Cloudy apple juice and white grape, ripe pears and just a touch of rice paper. In time, it becomes drier.
Finish: Medium-short, fading to green apple core and a suggestion of white bread.
Comment: Very clean and well balanced, but not quite enough complexity to push it into the 8s for me.
