Tasting notes
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Lovely. Figs, damsons and raisins with strawberry jam. Morello cherries with burnt toffee and maple syrup. Pine needles and black tea.
Palate: Zippy as hell, with a thin, potent texture that almost injects the flavours – strawberry jam and cherryade, with citrus, prunes and again the maple syrup. Assam tea and peppermint towards the end.
Finish: Long and spicy, with a peppermint zing, burnt toffee and salted caramel.
Comment: A bracing dram – one’s mouth puckers.

Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Prickly at first, a little sulphur and meaty. Then goat's cheese and honey on oatcakes. Some gentle orange sherbert, rum and raisin icecream notes. Quite autumnal. Spices build with long pepper and a clove edge.
Palate: Rich, big sweetness, a heavily spiced custard pastry. That orange citrus note emerges with vanilla fudge too. Dark honey.
Finish: Fizzy orange sweets, a little sour at first then sweetness explodes with aplomb.
Comment: Easy on the water, a touch tames the zip and reveals great layers at play.
