Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: A burnt aroma. Smoke drifting from a bonfire mingling with the aroma of lit fireworks. The sulphury notes fly off quickly revealing roasted chestnut, fruit cake, treacle toffee.
Palate: Big bodied and muscular with a fascinating mix of sweet and savoury and just enough bitterness to addanother layer.
Finish: Almost vinous thick feel.
Comment: An uncompromising malt which demands a cigar..or two. Love it,or leave it,this one won't care. The best ofthe Boisdale trio.
8.4
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Oaky. Damp wood, with a lingering mushroom note.Must in a cider press.
Palate: Sweet. Autumn fruit. Medlars again with cooked apples in cinnamon. Cloutie dumpling. Oak makes a firmcomeback as well.
Finish: Spicy,dry.
Comment: Not as oaky on the palate as expected from the nose.Lacks subtlety. The nose is not specially inviting. Waterenhances bitterness.
