Tasting notes
Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: Big hit of butterscotch, medicinal peat (sniff a 70’s Kenner production Star Wars figure and you’ll find this note) some aromatic sherry and baked orange, with lots of spice.
Palate: Hugely tarry, with an oily peat mountain crashing down on the palate. This one is about as viscous and oily as they come.
Finish: Residual notes of peat, creosote and tarry fishing rope.
Comment: Make no mistake, this is as black as Marmite in the peaty stakes and will probably divide palates as such.

Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Huge hit of mossy, damp woodland in Autumn, with some jam rollypolly and treacle tart. Spearmint arrives over time as the nose gives lots of wood.
Palate: Strong and robust, this really has seen some oak (fresh?). Like being slapped in the face by a branch. Not too aggressive however, as water brings out raspberry jam and patchouli.
Finish: Strawberry and cream boiled sweets and red chilli. Odd.
Comment: An odd, but pleasing dram.
