Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Reminicent of stepping into a bakery in full swing, fresh baked bread, olives and potato loaves; hot doughnuts with icing sugar and strawberry jam. Then praline crisp, nougat and clotted cream.
Palate: The full bakery sensory trip comes through, with those sugar coated doughnuts and jam, blackberry and rhubarb compote with a citrus zing.
Finish: Like a hug from an old blanket, warming, comforting and just keeps giving. Spices and fruit layers.
Comment: Fantastic stuff, would make an interesting hot toddy.

Taster Mark Newton

Nose: Toasted wholemeal bread, or perhaps sourdough; nutty, with walnuts and ground almonds. Baked apples with raspberry jam. Tia Maria.
Palate: Toasted note continues in a mouth-filling way; cloying, with tart redcurrants and a stack of cinnamon spice. Woody without being overpowering. Oranges with ginger.
Finish: Endlessly warm and delightful, with ginger, cinnamon and golden syrup.
Comment: Chock-full of flavour from active maturation. More superbly made Swedish whisky.
