Tasting notes

Taster Chris Goodrum

Nose: Tropical fruit bomb! Sugar sprinkled apricot, melon, pear and apple, followed by crisp green apple, gooseberry, lime and honey. Lightly medicinal and smoky peat appears.
Palate: Darker with more malt character and dark honey. The tropical fruit notes are present along with hints of barley, lime and green apple. The medicinal peat builds.
Finish: Intense and chewy with coffee coated banana and dark, moist, earthy peat, liquorice and a touch of treacle. Great finish!
Comment: A truly world class whisky.

Taster Joel Harrison

Nose: This starts off with wonderful vanilla and light cinnamon spices, and moves into summery elderflower and lily of the valley.
Palate: The palate is smooth, belittling the alcohol level, with a creamy undertone giving this a silky feel. With water more vanilla is revealed and more sweetness.
Finish: A slice of bitter citrus lingers on the finish, which is an odd counterbalance to the sweet, creamy nose and palate.
Comment: A really lovely summer drinking whisky, let down a little by the bitter finish.
