Tasting notes

Taster Laura Foster

Nose: Sweet salty caramel, before a medicine box is opened and lime is added to the cut. Nutmeg and demerara sprinkled in the background. Water brings lemon and honeysuckle.
Palate: Chewy coal and embers from a pine forest fire before a mineral, saline wash. Sweetness in the form of hazelnut praline and toffee.
Finish: Chocolaty flavours juxtapose with a dry palate and wood shavings.

Taster Mark Newton

Nose: Baked apples, grapefruit juice, pineapples, layered atop a slightly peaty core. Peat is itself merged with a lot of malt. Dried hops and vanilla fudge.
Palate: Velvety texture delivers more peat than the nose suggested. Blood oranges and malted barley. Peppery with warming ginger. Floral honey. Lemon drizzle cake, vanilla and almond oil.
Finish: Oily, warming, slightly smoky with honey and orange. Such maltiness!
Comment: Balm for the soul. Not super complex, but uplifting and immensely pleasing.
