Tasting notes
Taster   Lyndsey Gray
Nose: Pear juice, key lime pie and fresh basil, followed by hot acetate and tobacco ash. Gorse flowers, lavender and barbequed smoky bacon and cauliflower cheese.
Palate: Sweet tobacco ash and bonfire smoke, pickled beetroot, cranberry juice, oyster beignets and lastly prawn crackers.
Finish: Buttery in consistency with the ash smoke carrying straight through the palate.
Comment: A seaside summer barbeque contained in a glass.

Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Warming and rich. A waft of smoke, followed by a gentle marine edge to it. There’s a rich plum cake quality, shades of leather bound books, black tea tannins and black cherry fondant.
Palate: Follows the nose with the richness before those tea tannins reappear. Oak coming in, vanilla custard and thick cream with blackberries on top.
Finish: The smoke lingers for a while, then dries on those tannins.
Comment: A great winter warmer, so rich and the smoke doesn’t dominate. Balance is wonderful.
