Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Impressively delicate and restrained at first, then a ground almond and lime cordial edge comes through. It opens to a riot of floral, orange and lemons.
Palate: A huge wave of custard cream and vanilla pods hit first, then there is a gentle smoke in the background. Griddled pineapple and a hit of spice from chilli pods.
Finish: Takes its time, church candles and Barbour jackets.
Comment: Well worth bearing with this slow magestic whisky. Once it opens up it is engaging and multi-layered.

Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Very light notes of lime juice, green apples, kiwi fruit and mango. Tropical fruits become prominent with time. A little grassy, with golden syrup and fudge.
Palate: Sweet and syrupy, with vanilla. Perhaps too one-sided in this respect – the tropical notes continue, but heavy vanilla over-powers somewhat. Kiwi fruit and lime still, with black pepper.
Finish: Long, citrusy and vegetative, with black pepper and cloves drawing out.
Comment: Not a particularly active maturation, but end results are pleasing.
