Tasting notes

Taster Dave Broom

Nose: Deep and quite autumnal. Plenty of dark chocolate and bramble like fruit. Orange peel and thick toffee. This dominates the nose making it the sweetest so far.
Palate: Maraschino along with some anise. Concentrated mid-palate showing a lightly bitter edge but balanced by the huge. Cooked black fruits. Water though exposes the oak.
Finish: Chocolate.
Comment: Has blunt charm rather than complexity. A dancing bear, but don't give it any water.

Taster Dominic Roskrow

Nose: Tangerine, traces of cocoa powder.
Palate: Acerbic. Lots of oak, a touch of cocoa. Softens quickly.
Finish: Moves on rapidly leaving a trace of fruit.
Comment: A traffic light whiskey: rampant red nose, cautious amber body, and green foregone on the finish.
