Tasting notes

Taster Phoebe Calver

Nose: Light feta cheese, heather honey and oily cloth used in the garage. Tarragon cooking in butter and some peaches in syrup.
Palate: Dry earthiness, slices of peach and butter-crust pastry, heather honey and crystallised ginger. Then apricot yoghurt sneaks in.
Finish: A spicy and dry finish, leading into peppermint and green stalks.
Comment: A lovely balance between peated oily notes, sweet fruit and herbal hints.

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Green apple, fried fish, oyster mushroom, fennel and slightly burnt toast with butter. Apricots in yoghurt sweetened with blossom honey.
Palate: Light. Ripe orchard fruits: fresh pears, apples and plums. A real sweet nuttiness, like praline, and wholemeal bread. Milk chocolate. Some mushroom-y umami.
Finish: Medium, on notes of almond, baked pear and chocolate.
Comment: A pleasing blended malt with plenty of character and smoke.
