Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Like walking into one of those old fashioned sweet shops, sherberts, lemon drops, strawberry laces. Also fresh apples and more citrus.
Palate: The velvet glove reveals its punch. Oily, sweetness builds and then there is an explosion of spice. The alcohol is evident here.
Finish: A little fresh citrus and spice lingers.
Comment: A no nonsense dram despite the alcohol, that said should make a great hot toddy.

Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Discreet. Vanilla syrup. Touch of lemon posset. Delicate and subtle. The high alcohol strength does not show at all.
Palate: Velvety. Mouth coating. Cooked fruit. Pears and ginger. The alcohol bites the tongue a little and numbs it. Water is compulsory, it stresses the pear flavours.
Finish: Spicy, lingering on the pear notes.
Comment: There is a great difference between the nose and the palate. The alcohol is really aggressive on the palate. Better with water but still vibrant.
