Tasting notes
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Peaches and cream, fresh biscuity amaretto, a little basil leaf, sweet smoke left after the night before. Mechanical, with rich rum-soaked raisins, before a hint of ginger.
Palate: The palate is heavily medicinal, then it’s chilli heat, before moving into wonderful juicy plums, more peach and vanilla cream. A little hazelnut milk and a square of milk chocolate before stem ginger kicks in.
Finish: Medium to long, with sweet nectarine. Leaves a light hint of wood smoke.
Comment: This is a bit special.

Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Woodsmoke, fried salmon skin, pear drop and linseed oil. Almond cake, lemon syrup, crème patissiere and delicate grass notes. Gentle florals of calendula and chamomile, with some delicate eucalyptus, aloe and menthol notes. ‘Dunnage aromas’, too.
Palate: Medium-light. Concentrated flavour of smoked orchard fruits, with sweet-and-sour. Delicate mossiness. Green banana and some creaminess, too.
Finish: Delicately drying, the pear drop and delicate smoke lingers.
Comment: Beautifully old-school Speyside.
